Moments Of Delight ~ Two Short Poems ~
PLANT LIFE
Three beautiful girls
dressed up like wonder flowers
float along the luminous street ~
An orange butterfly
comes in gentle delight
with the caressing breeze
flutters around them thrice
pays homage to the new plant life ~
__________________________
ETERNAL WATERS
Fierce thunder storm ~
Paluskar’s voice sings through
The voice of the rain ~
labyrinths of silences
inscribe
hieroglyphs of eternal waters ~

Circa 1991 ~
Note ~
Paluskar ~ Pandit D.V. Paluskar [Dattatreya Vishnu Digambar Paluskar][1921-1955] the legendary Hindusthani musician ~ Son of the illustrious Vishnu Digambar Paluskar he was recognized as a national figure when he was barely 14 ~ His music was the connoisseurs’ special delight but it appealed even to the common man ~ His music was so steeped in devotion it grew anew on each new hearing ~ Very little of his music exists in recorded form ~ I have obviously heard only these ~ As I was listening to Paluskar sing Raag Bhoop, there was this fusion with the rain song ~
